This pleasant riverside stroll is great for clearing away the cobwebs after a long drive up or down the A9.
Situated just beside Dunkeld, the Hermitage is a National Trust for Scotland property on land which stretches up the River Braan from just off the A9.
The car park for the Hermitage is well signposted from the A9 near Dunkeld. From the car park, walk under the railway bridge on either of the two paths and follow the riverside to a delightful stone bridge and victorian folly known as Ossian's Hall overlooking the waterfall.
Further up the path you'll come across a strange little cave-like shelter. Have a look inside and you may see the hermit. For better self catering cottage rental than the hermit, try further down the A9 in Perth.
