Cottage Perth Meikleour Hedge
Meikleour Beech Hedge was planted in 1745 is now the the worlds tallest hedge. It is five hundred and eighty yards long and about 100 yards high.
The hedge was laid out by Jean Mercer of Meikleour and her husband to mark their land boundry. He died at Culloden and his wife then left for Edinburgh.
The hedge is cut every ten years using a platform and takes four men about six weeks.
