February Stay Apartment Perth

February Stay in Tay Chambers Perth

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in your Tay Chambers apartment last week! We were blessed with some lovely weather and were so comfortable in the apartment. It had all that we could wish for and your addition of an internet modem on Tuesday made things just about perfect for our teenagers!! Thank you also for the gift of wine which was very much appreciated.
The apartment is tastefully decorated and furnished and has all the home comforts that we could wish for. It was ideally placed to explore Perth and to visit John's parents who we were also able to entertain. The view from the apartment is wonderful - especially when the bridge is lit up at night. Becky has got some nice photos of this and we will e-mail them when she has edited them.
Once again, thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely apartment!
Kind regards
Katy and John Harding and family

November at The Nestings Arbroath

November at The Nestings Arbroath

We have just returned from our break in the Nestings at the Sandpiper apartment. We had a great time looking at the boats from the window. The flat was beautiful and well decorated, spotlessly clean and everything we could have thought of was there. I intend to recommend your flats to friends.
Thank you for our wonderful break.

Stay at Tay Chambers, Tay Street, Perth November 2007

Stay at Tay Chambers, tay Street, Perth November 2007

Hi Vyv,

This is the second time we have stayed in your flats last time on the other side of the Tay.
Both of the properties have breath taking views of the Tay and city.
They are tastefully decorated and have everything needed for a very comfortable stay.
Both flats are in ideal positions for walking into the city center and night life.
Margret the house keeper is great and nothing is too much trouble.
We will be coming back next year thank you very much.
Thanks again.

Holiday Apartment Arbroath Angus

Holiday Apartment Arbroath Angus
My family and I really enjoyed our time at the Nestings. We enjoyed sitting in the bay windows of the upper flat and watching the activity in the marina. We also enjoyed taking walks along the harbor wall, as well as walking out to the cliffs or along past the football field to the beach. We were already familiar with the Brewhouse and we tried the new restaurant by the harbor. We really enjoyed the local flavor of the Commercial Inn. We found the accommodation to be very comfortable and were very impressed with the modern efficiency of the place. We would certainly consider staying at the Nestings again or would recommend it to others.
Thank you,

Cottage Scotland Guest Book River Chambers Perth

Just to thank you for the use of your delightful apartment in Perth. We absolutely loved it and had a superb holiday. As you had promised there was so much to do in Perth and the surrounding area, we feel we only just scratched the surface. It was particularly nice to be able to walk into the town for a meal in the evenings and to have such a selection of restaurants. We certainly hope to return and may well try to organise another Scottish holiday around our daughter's graduation next summer.

Kind regards,
Cynthia Burton

Holiday Cottage Scotland The Nestings Arbroath

Holiday Cottage Scotland The Nestings Arbroath

Thank you – we had a wonderful time. In fact your email has prompted us to book again for next year. We enjoyed the two weeks so much we were thinking of taking our whole holiday break at the Nestings (Puffin), August 2008 if available – that is three weeks.

In terms of things to do/see the following are worth doing:

St Andrews (steeped in history and a great kite flying beach)

Carnoustie (the nearest large sandy beach)

But ‘n’ Ben restaurant in Auchmithie (just outside Arbroath) has wonderful food, but need to book well in advance.

Towns of Dundee and Montrose are worth a visit

Glamis castle is a great day out

Village hopping (Elie, St Monans, Pittenween and Anstruther) a nice coastal drive.

Anstruther fish restaurant. Again don’t go too late otherwise the queues extend along the road.

The Cliff top walks on Seaton Cliffs afford amazing views of the coastline.

By the way, Pauline the housekeeper was most helpful,

Kind regards,

Keith

Holiday Cottage Fife Castaway Cottage

Holiday Cottage Fife Castaway Cottage

We have just left on Saturday after two of the most enjoyable August weeks holiday we have ever had at Castaway Cottage, Fife. This was our 2nd visit to the cottage and very relaxing.
The only improvement that I would recommend for a family, would be a bigger pedal bin.
Thank you so much and we hope to see you again next year!

Tay Chambers Holiday Apartment Perth

Tay Chambers Holiday Apartment Perth
Well we're finally back home in Ireland after a very enjoyable week in Scotland, we were so lucky with the weather! I just wanted to let you know that we thought your Tay Chambers apartment was beautiful & so very comfortable. Also, Margaret had made sure it was spotlessly clean for us! We'd also like to say thank-you for the bottle of wine which was so thoughtful (and went down very nicely! The apartment is in a lovely area and the bridge looks beautiful when lit up at night-I really couldn't praise it enough, & we had no problems with the parking issue.
Once again, just to say thank-you from all of us.
Best wishes,
Theresa (O'Donnell).

Hi Vyvyen, I just wanted to say what a lovely stay we had last week at your new apartment Tay Chambers. Eveything was absolutely lovely and the views looking on to the river Tay were just beautiful. You did a really good job getting everything ready in such short time.

I hope to be in touch in the future to arrange another visit.

Thanks again.

Kim and I have had a marvellous time staying at the Nestings. The unit is in a fabulous position overlooking the harbour and close to the railway station. We are so glad that we decided to stay here rather than Dundee.

I just wanted to say what a lovely time we had staying in Arbroath in the Puffin at the Nestings last week. This is our second stay there and the standard of cleanliness was excellent still.
We particularly liked the thoughtfulness of the welcome tray when we arrived and have to admit we dived in with a cup of tea and shortbread biscuits very shortly after settling in. Thanks once again.

Self Catering Scotland Guestbook
Our Stay at The Nestings Arbroath, Angus, Scotland

I personally liked the Abbeys. We spent a day on the Royal Mile, a day driving through the Kingdom of fife, we liked St Monans Church. We drove to Glasgow and saw the Burrel Collection. The Burrel collection was incredible and the only cost was parking. We spent a long driving day through Pitlochry up to the Ospreys over to Balmoral (our timing was poor, the gates were just closing for the day when we got there). Our last day we took it easy and only went to Sterling Castle, Claypots Castle and Carnoustie.

It is still hard to believe we spent a week in Scotland with no rain and great weather. The fog rolled in Saturday morning as we were leaving.

We had a great time while in Scotland. It is a very beautiful country with many things to see.

Just a few thoughts that would be helpful to visitors:

Maps of where all the Castles are with hours of operations.

Map to the grocery store. Verbal directions are very hard to follow.

Driving etiquette, for those of us who were brave enough to get rental cars. It took me several days to understand roundabouts

Maps to local restaurants and pubs. The Fish and chip and Ice cream store next door was very good. The Old Brew House was very good. And the Bell Rock was a very good value.

We never did find a wireless internet connection. That might be nice to have available to your guests.

Thanks,
Howard

Self Catering Cottage Scotland Guest Book-Weavers Hall

Hi Vyvyen,
Our stay was great. We enjoyed Weavers Hall, the landscape, the sightseeing, Pipe Bands, Highland Games, everything.
Soon I send you some of our over 5000 pictures we made and write some comments.
And if we come back to Scotland sometimes we would try to stay at Weavers Hall again.
Kind regards,

Cottage Scotland Guest Book- Castaway Cottage

Cottage Scotland Guest Book- Our Stay at Castaway Cottage

Our experience at Castaway was so positive, we bought our own wee place in Fife! Obviously we love that little corner of the world, as evidenced by the number of times we've rented the cottage. Our favorite place to eat was The Lundin Links Hotel, we liked the ambience there and have always had really nice well cooked meals. We did however usually go to the Upper Largo Hotel for their Sunday brunch, excellent value for money and delicious to boot, and of course The Anstruther Fish Market is a legend of it's own. One of our favorite things to do was walk the Coastal route from lower Largo to Leven, do a wee bit of shopping, have a nice pub lunch and take the bus back to Lower Largo. Not terribly exciting but very enjoyable. - H.S. Canada

Our Stay at The Nestings Arbroath

Thanks for your email Vyvyen, we had a lovely holiday .. although it could have done with being several degrees warmer we are all tougher for our experience! Hopefully in August the weather will be kinder to us.

As for pictures .. I've attached a couple which you are more than welcome to use, one is the 'view from our window' at the Nestings, and our little boy perusing the menu at Dobbies Garden centre, most of ours are of people rather than places. We love Roo's Leap at Montrose to eat, Camperdown Park is fabulous especially for little ones, Dundee is great for shopping as I'm sure you know. In Arbroath 'Sugar and Spice' does a nice cup of coffee and is great for sweeties to take to friends at home. There is much debate as to the best fish and chips whenever we are up but Marco's currently pips Peppo's to the post - for Pizza it's fab too! Hope this is of some use to you.....RL
